Busy day today, driving hither and yon. I left work early to run errands, first to go vote (aka Ancient Futility Rite) and then to renew my driver's license (set to expire on one's birthday in NY, although at least they're good for 8 years now). After that, I cruised through a couple of appliance stores to check out refrigerators, since my 16 year old model is making semi-ominous noises. (Yikes! They only make behemoth-sized ones these days, which don't exactly fit into my less than 900 square foot house.) Finally, I stopped off at JoAnn's to check out sergers. My mother asked if I wanted one for my birthday. Yes, please! Sergers are so much smarter than they were back in the dark ages.
I even got a tiny bit of weaving done over the weekend. I cleared off the boxes balanced on the loom, rechecked the tension, and wove off a bit of header on the Fox Fiber dish towels. Maybe I'll have a serger when it comes time to cut them apart ...
I have a Fox Fiber dishtowel warp sitting here. I'm sure I'll get around to it Real Soon Now.

Please share your decision process on the serger. I have only my Singer zigzag sewing maching which is about 38 (!) years old now. Have been thinking of adding an upgrade at some point.
