Last night the bulb in my Ott-Lite died. The lamp runs many, many hours a day, so I certainly got the rated time from the bulb, if not more, but all fiber work halted instantly. Fortunately, Jo-ann Fabrics happens to be having a hefty sale on all Ott-Lite stuff, and the $30 bulb only cost $20 (that includes a usurious sales tax). Get thee to a Jo-ann's if you're looking for an Ott-Lite or parts!
Today was archetypal Ithaca weather. We had the high wind that has been traveling across the country, snow squalls, and sun simultaneously. I would like to see just a bit more sun than we've had lately, but that's not likely as long as the temperatures of Lakes Erie, Ontario, and Cayuga are still warm. Run cooler air over any of those, and you get serious cloud cover/precipitation. Of course, that has its advantages: years that are labeled "drought" here make people west of the Mississippi fall on the ground laughing.
