Sock breeding

Now I have a pair of socks. Unfortunately, that started a chain of earworms, starting with One Hippopotami:

One hippopotami cannot get on a bus,
Because one hippopotami is two hippopotamus.
...
A paranoia is a bunch of mental blocks,
And when Ben Casey meets Kildare
That's called a paradox.

Then the worm turned into I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas and finally into The Hippopotamus Song.
