I used the excuse that I lost a Polartec glove to knit a pair rather than work on the shawl. Here's glove #1. #2 is up to the pinkie and should be finished in time for the morning.
I'm also trying to figure out a weave structure that I saw on someone's coat fabric. Unfortunately, she was too far away for me to count threads, so I just keep messing around in Fiberworks. And I succumbed to temptation and ordered a little bit of Webs' new merino/tencel yarn - it just kept whispering "scarf" to me. And I hate weaving scarves :)
Great gloves! I was looking at that merino/tencel too. I'll be interested in hearing what you think about it.

Me too - I came close to snagging some today, too. Love the gloves. Nothing says procrastination can't be productive, too.

Ah, you have the glove bug too?! Am thinking about what I want to do special for the next pair. What yarn did you use for these? I had been thinking what a PITA self patterning yarn would be w/ 10 fingers. Yours came out pretty well, but perhaps it's not self patterning, simply variegated?

I don't actually enjoy knitting gloves - I get exceptionally bored by the 10th finger! - but I don't like to wear mittens. The yarn is Schaefer Lola, a sportweight superwash merino. It's just variegated, not self-patterning.

These are beautiful! Definitely a worthy of work stoppage. Did you create your own pattern? I have recently started snagging patterns for gloves/mitts/hats/scarves in my "R" account lately (well, that is what it's good for), but what's funny is I usually like big projects, but here near the end of our winter, I am wanting all the accesories.
